To celebrate this year’s winners, Jerwood Fiction Uncovered FM returned to the airwaves on Sunday 21 June. The annual radio station dedicated to discussing great British fiction was on 104.4fm Resonance FM on Sunday 21 June.

Guests included live interviews with four of the eight winning authors – Susan Barker, Lavie Tidhar, David Whitehouse and Bethan Roberts, as well as a discussion around all eight winning titles with judges Simon Savidge and Matthew Bates.

There was also a conversation with the 2015 judging panel and other British fiction writers including Catherine Hall, Nikesh Shukla, Matt Thorne, Alex Wheatle, while broadcaster Nikki Bedi and Danuta Kean joined a special panel on diversity in publishing in the UK.

Fiction Uncovered’s annual radio station dedicated to discussing great British fiction was last on the airwaves in Summer 2014. Presented by Arifa Akbar, literary editor of The Independent and i newspapers, the special five-hour broadcast celebrated the Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize 2014 winners and other topics related to contemporary British fiction writing. Jerwood Fiction Uncovered FM featured prize-winning authors Lesley Glaister, Evie Wyld, Gareth R Roberts, Ben Brooks, Bernardine Evaristo, Naomi Wood, Gerard Woodward and Cynan Jones.

Resonance104.4fm (“the best radio station in London” – The Guardian) offers a vast range of cultural programming, with in-depth series on literature, fine art, and an amazing variety of music, along with radiophonic experimentation and special broadcast projects throughout the year.

In 2013, Fiction Uncovered FM featured readings and talks from Fiction Uncovered 2013 writers: Lucy Caldwell, James Meek, Rupert Thomson, Nikita Lalwani, Nell Leyshon, Anthony Cartwright, Amy Sackville and Niven Govinden as well as readings and debate of a much wider range of British and translated fiction. Fiction Uncovered FM was hosted by writer and 2013 Chair of judges, Louise Doughty on Thursday 4 July and by writer, journalist and broadcaster, Anita Sethi on Friday 5 July. The Royal Society of Literature and Bloomsbury also contributed audio recordings of their events over the two days.

In 2012 Fiction Uncovered FM attracted over 10,000 listeners over two days with live interviews from 30 writers and editors including Jake Arnott, Stella Duffy, Philip Hensher, Geoff Dyer and David Baddiel.
