The 9th Geneva Writers’ Conference (January 31–February 2, 2013) will welcome over two hundred writers from around the world to a week-end of workshops, panels, readings and networking, led by well-known authors, agents, editors, and publishers, to be held at Webster University, Bellevue, Switzerland.
The faculty — Sven Birkerts, Christopher Castellani, Tananarive Due, Brenda Shaughnessy, Henry Sutton, Mimi Thebo, Susan Tiberghien, Marion Winik, Wallis Wilde Menozzi — are all widely published writers and experienced teachers committed to sharing their knowledge and perspectives on writing as both an art and a profession. The panelists — agents Sophie Lambert (on the Fiction Uncovered Advisory Committee), Sarah Levitt, editors Tasja Dorkofikis, John Hunt, Ladette Randophe, consultant Melissa Rosatti, and authors Nancy Freund, Katie Hayoz — are highly respected and will offer their professional advice.
The program opens Friday, January 31st with a welcome cocktail and will include workshops in fiction, nonfiction and poetry, as well as panels on publishing, marketing and social media. Organized by the Geneva Writers’ Group, the Conference is non-profit and made possible through registration fees and the generous support of sponsors.
Conference coordinator Susan Tiberghien says “These biennial conferences have taken place since 1998, and each time the creativity, enthusiasm, and support exceed my expectations.”
